שמי נמרוד בן אהרון, אני גר במדרשת שדה בוקר
גדלתי ביישוב צורית בצפון הארץ. כילד, נהגתי לשוטט על ההרים המקיפים את הישוב ולחפש בעלי חיים. שם נולדה אהבתי הגדולה לטבע באשר הוא והיא קיימת עד היום
בגיל 15 עזבתי את הצפון והלכתי ללמוד בתיכון לחינוך סביבתי, במדרשת שדה בוקר, והתאהבתי בנגב
.את המצלמה הראשונה שלי רכשתי בגיל 16 וניסיתי להתחיל לצלם, אולם רק לאחר השירות הצבאי התחלתי להשקיע בכך יותר זמן
מאחר שהטבע בדמי, עשיתי תואר ראשון בגיאולוגיה ומדעי כדור הארץ, באוניברסיטת בן גוריון בנגב, לאחר מכן הצטרפתי לשורות הרשות לשמירת הטבע כפקח שמורת הר הנגב הדרומי למשך כארבע שנים, ואז חזרתי לאוניברסיטה ע"מ לעשות תואר שני באקולוגיה במכון לחקר המדבר על שם יעקב בלאונשטיין, אוניברסיטת בן גוריון, קמפוס שדה בוקר
משאלת ליבי היא שדרך הצילום יבינו אנשים את הצורך האמיתי בשמירת הטבע כערך תרבותי וחינוכי מהמעלה הראשונה, וייתנו את הדעת לחשיבות שמירת מגוון בתי הגידול הטבעיים ובעלי
החיים לטובת העתיד שלנו עצמנו

About me
My name is Nimrod Ben-Aharon and I live in Sde-boker, southern Israel.
As a child, I grew up in a small village in the Gallilee. I used to wander in the mountains surrounding the village, looking for animals. That was the point where I started to love nature and this love is here forever...
At the age of 15, I went to the 'environmental high school' in Sde boker and fell in love with the Negev desert...
My passion for photography began with taking photos as a teenager and I rekindled my interest after the army service.
As nature is in my "blood", I did my B.Sc degree in Geology and Earth Sciences at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev ,Beer sheva. then I have worked in The Israeli Nature and Park authority as ranger of 'Mt. Negev Nature reserve' for four years. This inspired me to return to the academy and do my M.Sc in Ecology at the Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Sde Boker Campus.
My wish is that through nature photography people will understand the necessity of nature to be protected as a great cultural and educational value, and to inspire people to have great respect for all natural habitats. for the future of us all.
